TO STAGE OR NOT TO STAGE?

One Real Estate tool that seems to polarize opinions on either side of the topic is staging.  Staging is the addition and subtraction of furniture, and the use of decorating and art through an interior designer.

The goal is to both modernize a home and make it more appealing, but also to add an element of neutrality that will allow potential buyers to envision themselves living in it.  The drawback of showing your home "as is" is that is still very much your space.  A potential buyer will feel like a visitor to your home instead of being able to see themselves living in it.
A Properly staged home can increase your sale price and raise the likelihood of receiving more offers.
